Funds usually clear into our account on the same day you make payment, and once your funds have cleared we will notify you via email. Please make sure that you put your order reference number when making a bank transfer for your coin or bar order.

Why was my card declined?

There are a few possibilities for this.

The details that you have entered on your payment card do not match with the details registered on the account. For example, does the card holder name match with the name on the account registered with Hatton Garden Metals? We also require the same invoice address as your registered card payment. If you are using a card that does not belong to you and is registered to the address on your account then the payment will be rejected.

Your transaction may have been declined for a fraud check by your bank. If this is the case, you should contact your card provider as you will need to deal directly with your bank to resolve this. If the payment has been declined by your bank on our website, your order will not be confirmed and we have no control in assisting you with your bank to correct this. In most cases a call to your card provider will resolve this issue very quickly and allow you to continue using your card for online transactions.

Why buy physical gold?

The physical ownership of gold is said to put you, the owner, as sole controller of your investment. Holding physical gold means you are not tied down to interest rates, volatile banking, or turbulent stock markets. Purchasing physical gold in that sense can protect your wealth against these factors. Holding a percentage of physical gold and bullion can further diversify your investment portfolio, and this dynamic holding allows for flexibility and control when purchasing this precious metal.

Where should I store my gold?

In our experience most investors who purchase physical gold will often prefer to store this in the safety of their home. As gold is rather small and therefore easily concealed in comparison to its wealth you could store most of your physical gold in a safe and secure place in your residence. We have heard of all types of bizarre places for home storage of metal, from fish tanks to floorboards so you can get creative when hiding your wealth! It may also be wise investment to purchase a small safe for your home, these are usually secured in place to a wall or the floor to prevent them being removed from the site by an intruder and can be a very suitable option for home storage of valuables. Some people also use safety deposit boxes, these may be offered through your own bank, or through a third party.
