All investment products displayed on our site are priced based on the live precious metal market price and allows our customers to purchase metal in relation to how gold is trading as a commodity. All our stock is carefully checked and is guaranteed genuine gold.
How will my order come packaged?
We take the utmost care and discretion when sending out your order from Hatton Garden Metals. Firstly, our strong parcel bags are neither branded, nor personalized and will never contain any personal or order information. Discretion is essential in packaging your order and we make sure that this is achieved.
How will my order be sent?
We understand the importance of receiving your order without hesitation, that’s why we send all our orders out for a next day delivery, with a guaranteed delivery timeslot before 1pm. For most orders we use Royal Mail Special delivery, and your parcel is always FULLY INSURED for the full value of your parcel. We will email you once your order has been prepped for dispatch and to provide your tracking details for your parcel. Your courier will also send a text message on the day your order is due to be delivered, as a polite reminder that you should be available to sign for your parcel upon delivery.

Can I collect my order from your London store?
Collection in our London based store is available to all customers who have paid by Bank Transfer or who are paying in person. Our store address can be found on the contact us section of our site where are opening times and closest tubes links are also listed. Please note when collecting an order or paying at our counter you will need to be in store 15 minutes before our closing time of 4pm.
What do I need to bring with me when collecting from your store?
You are only able to collect your order once you have received an email notification that your order is ready to collect, or if you are paying for your order in store. When coming to collect your order you must bring with you a form of photographic ID such as a Driving License or Passport and a copy of your order, without this your order will not be released. We will not release any orders to a third party under any circumstances.
How can I pay for my coin / bar order?
HGM accept 2 methods of payment:
1 .Card payment – this is an instant payment and you will receive an email confirmation that your order has been placed on our site. The maximum amount for a card transaction is £5,000. For orders over this value please see other payment methods. We accept all major debit/credit cards not inclusive of American Express.
2 Bank transfers- this is usually a same day transfer which can be made via online banking or by calling your bank.
Funds usually clear into our account on the same day you make payment, and once your funds have cleared we will notify you via email. Please make sure that you put your order reference number when making a bank transfer for your coin or bar order.
Why was my card declined?
There are a few possibilities for this.
The details that you have entered on your payment card do not match with the details registered on the account. For example, does the card holder name match with the name on the account registered with Hatton Garden Metals? We also require the same invoice address as your registered card payment. If you are using a card that does not belong to you and is registered to the address on your account then the payment will be rejected.
Your transaction may have been declined for a fraud check by your bank. If this is the case, you should contact your card provider as you will need to deal directly with your bank to resolve this. If the payment has been declined by your bank on our website, your order will not be confirmed and we have no control in assisting you with your bank to correct this. In most cases a call to your card provider will resolve this issue very quickly and allow you to continue using your card for online transactions.
Why have you requested ID from me?
As a bullion company we are compliant with the following regulations; Money Laundering Regulations 2007, Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and The Terrorism Act 2000. We have a strict customer due diligence policy which will mean that sometimes we will need to ask for Photographic Identification and Proof of Address. Any document requested is held securely with the privacy of any data protected. As a regulated Bullion Business, Hatton Garden Metals has an obligation to comply with all relevant laws to disclose Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
Vat-Free purchases on gold
There is no VAT charge on any gold investment bullion. All gold coins and all gold bars bought in the UK and EU are VAT Exempt.
Is there VAT on silver?
VAT is payable at 20% on silver bullion and coins. This means that 20% will be added in VAT to the price of any silver bullion bars or coins bought from Hatton Garden Metals.
Investors are advised to treat Silver bullion and silver coins as they would like any other product which includes VAT in the sale price.
I am VAT Registered
If you are VAT registered we advise that you seek advice from a professional with regards to claiming back VAT on your purchases. If you are a business purchasing metal you will need to open a trade account with us. Please visit the Trade section of our site and complete the Trade Application Form, we will then be in touch with a trade account form which you will need to complete along with our due diligence pack.
